Harold W. Hills, Sr.

was a John A. Roebling, Sons Co. civil engineer from 1928 to 1964, and spent a great deal of energy documenting the company's work on suspension bridges. Mr. Hills oversaw the construction some of the Roebling Company's most notable bridges during that time period, including the George Washington Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, and Suwannee River Bridge. Widely considered to be an expert on design and construction of suspension bridges, Harold Hills has left us an interesting legacy in his graphic photographs documenting the construction of the bridges he had a hand in building for us.
