Pete Rossi
was the energetic, athletic director for the John A. Roeblings,
Sons Co. from 1950 to 1972. In 1939, at the age of 23, Mr. Rossi
began his career at the Upper Works of the John A. Roeblings,
Sons Co. and quickly rose to be the right hand man of then athletic
director Teddy Kearns. Rossi was a talented charismatic athlete
who passed on an opportunity to play professional baseball for
a chance at the big time in the John A. Roeblings, Sons Co. His
professionalism and dedication to the company leaves us an all-important
photographic resource, that provides us with a glimpse of the
ability, stability and endurance of the Roebling Company employee
in the off- hours.
