Reporting Measurements
Is 6.00000 really different from 6.00?
You bet it is. The number of decimal places we use tells the reader how accurate
we think the measurement is.
If we report that a ball weighs 6 grams, we mean that the ball
weighs between 5.5 and 6.5 grams.
If we report that a ball weighs 6.0 grams, we mean that the ball
weighs between 5.95 and 6.05 grams
